As a Technical Sales Engineer at ITI TranscenData, my role is to advise customers and prospective clients on options and techniques available for transferring 3D models between different systems and uses.
The transferring of these models falls into a range of areas that can be summarised as:
* Model translations - for transferring models for use in another system.
* Model repair - usually required when receiving poor quality models.
* Model repurposing - subtle changes to a model to make it more suited for use in the receiving system. e.g. Defeaturing a design model for use for analysis meshing. Simplification of public models to protect your IP
