Were can I find 2D drawings? I need to practice my Inventor and Solidworks skills and I need 2D drawings in order to turn them into 3D. Anything from parts to small assembleys will do. Thanks in advance.
When I started working with Inventor and Solidworks I faced a similar dilemma. In order to explore all aspects of these CAD products I wanted complete sets of drawings covering multi-disciplines. Strangely I found 2 resources that satisfied this requirement...steam engine plans from http://www.john-tom.com/html/SteamPlans.html and for WW2 manufacturers aircraft drawings try http://www.facebook.com/manualsontheweb. The latter you may have to pay for but there is an extensive amount of drawings available.
The other source you can look into is any old drafting text like pretty much any Jensen book which an older version would be pretty cheap. Will be repleat with simple to moederate parts all in 2D that you can model.
Here are some to get you going http://www.cadforum.cz/catalog_en/?fo=DWG&cat=25 http://www.thomasnet.com/cadmodels.html http://www.boschrexroth-us.com/coun...nd_Resources/CAD_Files_Solid_Models/index.jsp http://www.reidsupply.com/
I found these ones which were listed on another forum looking for AutoCAD practise drawings. http://adc.ucolick.org/detailed_design/drawing_table.htm It has quite a few simple parts assembly drawings.
