Fitters/Production Specialists Mechanical - Broughton Summary of Role: The primary function of this role is the installation of modification kits, support to test, manufacture and/or installation of electrical harnesses and panels in line with Planning Engineering and Design Engineering approved data and to verify/stamp in process inspection stages defined within the Planning Engineering data. Main Duties: This position requires competence in the disassembly/assembly and installation/removal of pre-fabricated parts, furnishings, sub-assemblies, major components and auxiliary equipment to satisfactorily complete the alteration and/or modification of any type of aircraft, equipment rack, instrument console etc. This position requires the ability to modify basic aircraft systems; this involves component removal, adjustment, replacement, modification and the ability to perform the subsequent operational checks and tests. Certified personnel will, under supervision (LAE’s), be requested to support engine runs and ensure that the aircraft is flight worthy. A knowledge and understanding of organisational procedures and specifications in accordance with job requirements. This position requires competence in the assembly of electrical and electronic parts, materials, hardware, wiring harnesses, components and sub-assemblies into completed assemblies for the manufacture and modification of electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical equipment, equipment racks, instrument consoles etc. This position requires competence in the mounting, installation, bonding and testing of various electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical systems used in the modification of any type of aircraft. This position requires the competence to perform electrical/electro-mechanical system operational checks, trouble shoot and correct Has the ability to work, mainly un-supervised, from technical drawings, aircraft manufacturer’s manuals, written or verbal instructions and retrieves production data directly from computer systems.
