Job Description:

• The Applications Engineer is responsible for actively driving and managing the evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and advocate for Company products.
• The Applications Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
• The individual will provide technical support to the sales process for the development of new equipment in specific business segments, identify and estimate new product opportunities, and interface between customer needs and engineering project scope.
• The Applications Engineer will support the development and growth of product lines in specific business segments.

Responsibility:

• Able to convey customer requirements to Product Management Teams.
• Able to travel throughout sales territory as required.
• Must be capable of performing technical presentations on occasion.
• Must be familiar with technical product specifications and be able to point out the specific technical benefits of one product vs. another. The applications engineer must be able to back up technical claims.
• Provide technical input to Customer projects IE Plant layouts, Sketches, Product Concepts.
• Identifying Project Scope.
• Project Cost estimates.
• Product Cost estimates.
• Provide Technical Support to Sales.
• Roughcut Time estimating.
• Interface between customers and core engineering platform and project teams.
• Understand mining and rail regulations and applications.
• Participate and represent company in industry trade shows and conferences.
• 10 – 20% travel will be required.

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer.
• Experience in Machine design.
• Mobile equipment background.

• CAD software experience.
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
