hello, everyone, this in ivy lee from china,it is nice to be here do you think working in machinery industry is little bit boring sometimes? how do you find working interests or funny during your work? are you enjoying or being satisfied with your work now? http://www.freetech-mould.com
Ivy Lee, I did find machine design boring because there is very little creativity involved. Companies have developed standards that work for them and they expect those standards to be carried on in new machines. It's not much fun for us, but using standard tubing sizes, sensors, pads, and things helps reduce inventory variation so it does make sense. I love product design. I'm independent so I have options to do a lot of different things and I've settled on product as my favorite. I have a lot more creativity, even considering that I have to match ID concepts closely. The attachments for components in product assemblies, passing test requirements, and even some light ID work keep my mind entertained. Being allowed to machine my own prototypes is a HUGE plus as it breaks up any monotony.
working independent is great, you can design your product and make it perfect with your own idea and thinking. when you see your idea comes true, you would have gratification in your work, and feel it was a worthwhile. working in a company is a little bit boring sometimes, cause you need to repeat the same daily work, abide by the rules and anything else.although you have a new thingking sometimes,it is hard to realize. it is a little bit blue. anyway, working is very important is our life,so just try to find interests and fun in our work, make our life and work happy, right? wish you guys have good work and enjoy it
Hey Ivy Lee, I agree, doing machine design under the constraints of a company with all the pre-defined standards, etc can be a bit boring, especially if you're a creative person who likes the challenge of solving difficult problems. When you say "independent", do you mean that you are a freelancer or have your own company? How do you find challenging projects to work on as an independent? I am a freelancer and often have to take simple or boring jobs to pay the bills. Do you have the same problem?
dear matt i am not freelancer, i am working for boss. admire someone who is independent,he can have options to do a lot of different things. i have no the courage to be soho.afraid can not pay my bill someday,so i choose to be an employee. some of my friends working in company, they also have part time jobs for design.through friendship or looking for the part time from web. Have you ever tried to design something new or creative, and make some promotion on web? i think maybe it is a way. Anyway,no matter what role we chose, just try to find interests and feel happy
I, personally, find doing machine design under the constraints of a company is interesting and challenging since I have chance to work with various customer and different kind of tasks and standards around the world. Also dedicated teams across function through mechanical, fea, electric, hydraulic,...participate in a design project sharing and gain knowledge to deploy project fast and in correct way
sometimes you will be boring when you are only taking responsibility one part of Machine. But when you are taking responsibility for a Finished equipment. You can find that is fantastic and you will love this. For example I have done the design around 12 years. At the beginning, I just made some drawings for chief engineers. But when I had the chance to design a machine and a robotic. I found i fall love with my job.
happiness is everywhere i think all the job will be boring if many years do same thing. But work can bring you sense of achievement when you get an order ,when you clinet say you did good job. happiness is everywhere. http://www.odinmould.com
Hi, to everyone I am very glad to make a post to this very relevant forum site. I have started browsing and I find everything interesting to learn. Perhaps this could give me more opportunities to another field like engineering. Good day and thanks for considering me as one of the members
