      Hi,

I am looking for calculating the axial load bearing capacity of uniform cross-section snap rings with circular section for solid shafts.

I was able to find few papers and catalogs showing this calculation for snap rings with rectangular cross-section but for the circular cross-section type they had mentioned detaching speed (the rpm in which the ring detaches from the shaft or bore. Is it that snap rings with circular cross-section do not axial load retaining capacity?

If there is any means to narrow down to approx load it would help me significantly. Do let me know if there already exists any kind of technical paper or publications on this topic. Hope I have explained this clearly, else let me know to clarify.

      Thanks in advance.

      Regards,
      fazshah.
