Heh, I remember almost exactly the same illustration from over thirty years ago. File under 'nuclear fusion'?

Having said that, the ITER fusion project really exists and I reckon Branson has his sights set on something like this way before 2050...

I think this one has more to do in a Marketing forum than here ;)

      Mach 4+ and a sharp nose ?

Anyway I Wonder what are the plans of the HR to setup the designing team : touring the nurseries for any gifted baby in aeronautical sciences ?

Well this thing as some elagance. Spiked like a mosquito but with 2.6m fuselage diameter !!! Imagine the lenght.

My favourite "spacy" things on this design (I am actually making the V hand sign and strongly call for the help of the force):
      - the bulbous damping mass at the tip of the crescent wings
      - the V tail for a mach 3+ design (good luck with inertia coupling)
      - the high bypass Fan 3 inch aft of the inlet

Well this guy say he has a date... At least this makes a meaning for those watching stupid aviation video on the internet.

But I might hve bypassed much more if this is a ([n] rather expensive) game !

Lockheed Stratoliner - another made up plane.

Stop the press! Here's this week's totally made up fictional plane that'll looks nice but nobody will ever make it. Powered by dilithium crystals or something. ;)

sooner or later, yes it will ! 24 hrs to Australia is a long time and if there is a way (that is at least affordable at first to the jet set) then it will appear. If nowt else the military will start it, much as anything they are probably the only ones to have the R&D budget !
