Can you guys wonder what engineering would have been like if we didn’t have computers and softwares doing the jobs for us. Also google playing a big role in finding us information that would take us days to find using a library or series of books. My university teaches drawing using those tools and a drawing table, they also teach CAD but that’s later. The first step they give the students manufactured parts and ask them to look and draw. I like how those kids walk around with 7 different boxes of pencils rulers markers and large drawing sheets. I never learnt all those, never learnt it that way. I wish I did though. It seems cool.
Yeah, perhaps if you actually spent hours making a drawing by hand you'd look at it more closely and be sure there are no errors! I've said it before but it still blows my mind that things like aircraft and space shuttles were designed (mostly) without computers!
That is true, but I was wondering what happens if they make a small error that is in the middle of everything, do they start from scratch or what? Because as far as I know they do not use eraser. Yes exactly and also the launches and all used to be calculated by humans and they were called computers. Looking at the rate of grown, in a few hundred years maybe we would be able to design things out of our thinking directly.
Yeah, that's the other side! If you want to change one little thing, even a screw type or something, do you redraw the entire sheet? Maybe that's why they had entire rooms full of draftsmen?
