Ammex I-Support is now on the lookout for the following open position/s:

Mechanical Design Specialist:

• Using Autocad for 2D General Arrangement layouts of our trailers for sales assistance purposes
• Using Solidworks for 2D drafting of 3D Solidworks models created by our engineers.
• Drawing revisions and alterations from markups done by our engineers & design draftsmen.
• Dimensioning & detailing to ISO standards including tolerances & welding details.
• Drafting of electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic diagrams.
• The role will eventually include 3D model manipulations of standard product ranges to incorporate minor customizations that customers may require.
• The drafting & design is of a Mechanical engineering nature
• The technical documentation preparation would include:
  • Assist the Smith Technical documents officer in preparation electronic documents of;
  • Operating & maintenance manuals for Smith equipment.
  • Safe Operating Procedures
  • Work procedures & risk assessments
  • Obtain relevant technical information from component suppliers & extract required information for inclusion into manuals.
  • Read & interpret relevant standards to incorporate information into manuals.
  • Identify, catalogue & tag photos of Smith equipment & components.

Required Skills:

• Excellent written & oral English communications skills.
• Experience with 2D drafting of mechanical structures to ISO Technical drawing standards including dimensioning, tolerancing & welding symbols.
• Minimum 2 years full time Autocad experience.
• Minimum 3 years full time Solidworks experience with a focus on drafting. (See below)
• Technical qualifications in a mechanical engineering field.
• Solidworks Certified Professional (SWCP) certification would be viewed favorably.
• Proven ability to read & interpret technical standards
• Proven experience with technical document creation.
• High level skills with Microsoft Word & PowerPoint.
• Medium level skills with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Windows Live Movie Maker
