      Hi,

Another component that I dont know if there is one available.

Certainly cant find it on Google!

I am looking for a solid moulded rubber foot. Around a half-inch or less diameter.

Similar to the picture(s) below. But I would like to find a standard part with a self tapping screw thread in there. ... The type suitable for screwing into hardboard etc.

      [IMG] [IMG]

I cant seem to find one with a self tapping type screw thread.

I have had some great help here, and I wonder if anyone can advise?

      Kind regards,
      John Biddleston

Looks like another part that would be custom made for you. I've never seen or heard about any self-taping screws that have anything special on the head such as rubber. I wouldn't even know where to start with that one; it might require two manufacturers (one for the screw, one to mold rubber around it).

we did a similar Stud with rubber arounded for a usa customer early this year, it just requires opening a rubber mold and the rubber mould is quite cheap.
if you really need this self-tapping screw with rubber head, please contact me and send me the dimension details to: [email protected]

Have you looked for just 'rubber foot'? Probably some of the ones which come up will also have self-screw feet types too.

Companies such as RICHCO <www.richco.co.uk> have large catalogues of electrical and mechanical components which include feet of various types, including screw-on and self-rivet.

Other manufacturers, such as 3M have enlarged their offering beyond their original self-adhesive Bumpons.

Maplin carry some too, with holes which can take self-tap, or other threaded fasteners of your choice.

      Hope that helps.

Depending on the material you need to put the boot in. The solution may be simpler than you might think.

I've never seen a rubber foot with an integrated self-tapper or wood screw as a standard off the shelf part.

This is probably because with this type of screw thread it may be difficult to get it started in the timber by pushing/turning on the rubber alone.

Like others have said, I would suggest you stick with separate feet & screws & then you can choose the thread size & length to best suit the material being fixed to.

For a given application, you could always get a supplier to supply the feet pre-fitted with the screws in the holes of the feet to avoid having to assembly them, if that was of any use.

The supplier of these may do something to suit your needs:
