Hello, I thought I'd share some progress on a mini gun model that I have been working on for the past few weeks. The purpose of this project is to practice my modeling skills and to have another project for my portfolio. I have never worked as an engineer before but with enough practice I hope to land a job or an apprenticeship soon.
Hello, Its the m134 mini gun that was designed by General Electric. Ive made some nice progress these past couple of days. The feeder/delinker is almost complete. There is a cam path I need to model up but Im not sure how to tackle that feature. In the mean time I moved on to the gun rotor.
Still working on the main gun core. Its the most complicated part of the design so Im trying to get it out of the way as soon as possible.
Hello! Ive made a bit more progress on the project. Ive decided to put the 1:1 scale model on hold and work on a simplified version instead. I intend to sell this model when it is complete. I only have the housing, the clutch assembly, yoke and vertical arm to complete.
G'day! Dave here from Australia. I'm building replicas of the Dillon M134 out of aluminium (aluminum to you) and have modelled all but the de-linker. Is there any chance you would share any CAD files with me to save me a bunch of time? Just asking. Cheers, Dave.
