Our client’s Engineering team has inspired and constructed amazing facilities, working with clients such as West Virginia University, Fairmont State, Cacapon Resort, Nemacolin Woodlands Sundial Lodge, Smithsonian National Museum of American History amongst many others. 90% of projects are in WV, PA and VA. Salary will commensurate with experience, ambition & drive. The typical salary range could be between $75K to $95K a year plus excellent benefits including 401(K), Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: · Minimum of a BS Degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis and registration as a Professional Civil Engineer. Master preferred. You EXPERIENCE is what will set you about! NOT your degree. · Minimum of 6 to 8 years as an Engineer of Record role in the design and preparation of structural plans for commercial facilities, institutional, industrial and structures. · Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in WV or the ability to gain registration through reciprocity within 6 months. JOB PREREQUISITES · Structural Design Engineer must have an in-depth working knowledge of advanced computer software used in the design of concrete foundations, both soil and pile supported; reinforced concrete, wood, and structural steel. Must have a thorough knowledge of structural engineering practices, calculation methods, and design details. · Extensive experience using US Design Codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI) is required and production of the associated construction drawings. · Experience with projects to identify design requirements and prepare necessary design calculations using hand calculations and RAM software and REVIT. · Authorized to work in the United States. TYPICAL DUTIES · Utilize appropriate design software in performing quality assurance reviews of design activities. · Plan, schedule, and provide work directions as required for the preparation of designs, processes, reports, correspondence, and related data. · Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. · Identify design requirements for structural elements including but not limited to reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structures. · Perform engineering assessments of structural deficiencies, failure analysis, provide remedial solutions, prepare technical reports and verify “As-Built” record drawings for accuracy. · Assist in any duties required to deliver a quality product on schedule and within budget. · The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be on an ultimate partnership track as a Principal.
