In our office we are currently working with SmarTeam but we are facing some difficulties with the speed since we have an office in Amsterdam and in Asia. In both offices we would like to work at the same time on the same SolidWorks files.
We also would like to have the opportunity to create work flows and store our history in the pdm system.
SolidWorks Enterprice PDM could be another option for us, but we have no experience yet in sharing our files via this PDM system.
Can you tell me your experiences in sharing CAD data real time with Asia at an acceptable speed?

      Hello,
I'm CAD Administrator and mechanical engineer.
We work with PDM Enterprise 2009. You can use this E-PDM software to work in more locations in the world. This E-PDM have a capabilities to replicate archive server (all or some projects if you don't need all projects) on various locations in the world.

      HI ,
first of all thanks for your reply.
I mentioned SmarTeam and PDM Enterprise, but all programs like
PDMworks, Adept, TeamCenter, Evovia V6, Windchill and DBWorks Enterprise have their own specialties.
The benefit of using PDM Enterprise is that it's a SolidWorks owned product, so when a new release of SW is available, it is also available for PDME.

Most of the PDM programs do have the possibility to work multi site (in diffent locations in the world), but not all are able to share the data real time (you have to place an extra server which can synchronise at night) and some cannot guarnatee speed, especially when dealing with asia (turns out they still want to check out all the data)...

We are looking for a program who can deal with this preferably not via a archive server.
