      Fusion 360
Fusion 360 for free is possible not only for students. If you carefully read the faces. agreement, then free of charge can also be used by enthusiasts who start up start-ups if your turnover does not exceed $ 100,000 per year. You put a trial version from the site and therefore on the right at the top, where the end of the action time is clicked and you choose that you are an enthusiast, everything, you have a full license for a year and then just renew it. Given that this is the offspring of AutoCad, which is a standard in which the study of their offspring has grown, will definitely not be too much knowledge, especially since the product can have both CAD and summation and even sculpturing, i.e. and for the beginning and for growth with head enough. I just started to get acquainted with him, everything is cool.

      SolidWorks
Advantages: a large toolkit clear to all. Easy to create parametric models. The ability to draw a model in real textures, which helps in creating catalogs or booklets.
Disadvantage: It is not very convenient to create drawings a little tools for working with a drawing

My acquaintance with SolidWorks began at university. Before that, I learned to work in the COMPAS3D, and quite easily mastered SolidWorks myself. And I want to note that SolidWorks is suitable for both mechanical engineering and artistic interior modeling in wood or artistic forging (casting).
The tools are very simple. Operations repeat all operations COMPAS3D, but have a significant difference - good math. That is, in the program, you can build a fairly complex geometry that you will not build in COMPAS3D. Automatic bindings in the sketch allow you to quickly and accurately create parametric models.
Now I study Fusion 360, I want to switch to it)

My vote goes for Autodesk inventor. I used to run solid works on my computer before I changed to inventor (I have the freedom from my work to do so). Inventor runs better (lags less) for the same given projects. Inventor is more user friendly (according to me). Inventor tutorials and extra resources and help is readily available for me. The interface and graphics are ideal for a visual learner. All the icons and menu items seem to be just in place for me.

I would prefer using inventor over solid works at anytime of the day. I understand solidworks might be more powerful for given tasks but inventor is not bad either, I have never seen my inventor crash for example, neither have I seen solidworks crash. Inventor also gives a free 3 year license to students and if instructors already teach their students inventor from the beginning it’ll be very likely students choose to work with inventor in their professional life.

Personally I think Solidworks is the best because it's fairly easy to learn but also very powerful. (It's also because it's the one I'm best at!).

      It's just so expensive though!

Start new work on Monday where I will be using Solidworks for the first time in 12 months. Using Inventor, ProE and Solidworks Work Time in the past, I tell myself it's like riding a bike!
