I have inherited a drawing of a part that I must rename. The drawing is abc.drw and calls up def.prt. I want to create a new part ghi.prt (virtually identical to the original)with drawing ghi.drw from this. Several forums have said things along the lines of - Open abc.drw and def.prt simultaneously - In the part file choose File > Rename, set the New name to ghi and choose "Rename on disk and in session" - Open the Drawing file and do the same. BUT THIS ONLY WORKS IF THE DRAWING AND PART FILE NAMES ARE THE SAME. When I do this the ghi.drw drawing file is created but the part file is still def.prt on the disk. The drawing file now calls ghi<def>.PRT in the model tree. How do I rename the part file and the dissimilar drawing file and keep the relationship so that ghi.drw calls ghi.prt? Thanks for any comments - please spell out what you mean in any reply because I am a Pro-E nube. I am running Pro-E Wildfire 5.
