Job Description Senior Design Engineer Newark £30,000-£35,000 Due to increasing demand following a period of sustained growth, this market leading Newark based employer is looking to appoint a Senior Design Engineer to join their market leading team. Responsible to the Director of Engineering, the successful applicant will accountable for: Supervision Supervise Junior Design Engineer Define weekly/daily work lists based on internal/external customer requirements Manage design work to agreed deadlines and according to quality systems Perform design reviews/checking of drawings to ensure quality standards are met Product Development Design and develop the products defined in the Company Development Plan and Marketing Briefs under guidance of Director of Engineering Produce detail drawings to BS 8888 and manage drawing changes Produce 3D designs using Solidworks Custom Design Provide timely engineering feedback on quotations and technical enquiries Design custom orders to agreed deadlines and manage interface with customer Quality Identify and deliver on opportunities to improve quality through redesign Skills & Experience - Essential Degree in engineering 5+ years of mechanical design experience Solidworks/AutoCAD proficient Draft to BS8888 Experienced in the design of electro-mechanical systems Extensive knowledge of plastic component design Experience with design of machined/milled metal parts Team management experience Proven ability to deliver to design dead lines - Desirable Working knowledge of ERP/SAP systems Working knowledge of IEC/MIL standards (environmental etc) The Candidate The successful applicant must show initiative and attention to detail, along with good communication skills and a flexible professional approach.
