Have used SW2010 since mid Jan on SP2.0. Works ok except thast it is very RAM hungry, I've got 2GB and it freezes whne out of memory, very annoying. Contacted support and they suggested a PC upgrade including graphics card. Running XP sp3, Nvidia FX500/256 Mb RAM. Only work around offered was to increase paging size to 4000 from 2000, still crashes though. Guess I'll have to save up the cash.
I'm still with solidworks2009, I have a lot of work and little time to install a new version and get used to a new "environment ", maybe in a few weeks I can change to 2010
I have a Dell Workstation 670 for almost 5 years...but maybe its time to think about a new one... This is what i have now... Operating System:MS Windows XP Professional SP2 Processors: 2 Intel Xeon CPU 3.20GHz Pysical Memory: 3.0GHz RAM Graphics: NVIDIA Quadro FX 3400/4400 Disk Drives :Adaptec Raid 0 SCSI
Now on SW2010 service pack 3.1 (Vista 64bit) - an improvement as the last service pack prevented me from accessing files on the network (wonderful!) and crashed (great!). Fingers crossed that all is back to normal....
Hi, my main 3D CAD tool is Inventor but I also use SW. I am still in version 2008, and it's doing job for now. Does new versions 2010(2011) have many improvements comparing to version 2008, and can any one tell me in few words what are they. Thanks
Now on SW2010 service pack 4.0 but still using SW2009 service pack 5.1. SW2010 looks promising but I'm looking ahead for SW2011 now.
