The wait is finally over and SolidWorks 2011 has been launched. The launch was done at the SolidWorks headquarters in Concord, MA. I'll be interested to hear how people get on with the new version, but like with SW2010, there's no way I'm touching SW2011 it for at least a couple of service packs!!!!
Solidworks 2011 looks like a pretty good addition to the Solidworks family. Of course, like everyone else here, I think I'll be waiting a while before I upgrade my Solidworks version. I have SW2010 and so far, it's been serving me quite well. I have no real need to complain. However, like NikSerer, I'm interested in knowing if plastic parks and molding design have been improved in this version.
2011 Pre Release 1 is now available SolidWorks 2011 PR1 is available for download, please go to the download site (customer portal) to install 2011 PR1. You need to be on subscription to download this pre release of SW2011. Make sure you select 2011under Select version If you want to submit any SW 2011 PR1 issues, please remember to select 'PR1' from the service pack pull down. Please note that there are no contests for the 'Pre Release' releases. So no points will be rewarded for submitted issues.
