Hi all, I am helping a friend build a large band-saw mill for cutting up logs, We are using two 38mm trapezoidal screws with the correct nuts to drive the band-saw cartridge up and down. I am going to drive the screws individually with two different motors using stepper motors, encoders and software to keep them insync, I have written the coding for this and checked it against a small model however I am struggling to figure out which size motors I need for my application. The cartridge should be no more then 1500kgs. It will be completely stable in the vertical and horizontal and the frictional coefficient of nut on screw is 0.17. Thanks in advance
